What We Need

 

The Chief of Staff for 500 Latin America (“CoS”) will be working with the Firm’s Managing Partner based in Latin America to facilitate the execution of strategic priorities, through relationship building, communications, project management, and problem-solving,

 

This person will serve as the right hand to the Managing Partner for their most important priorities, including the day-to-day operations of various regions, business units, and special projects, working closely with the Product and Portfolio Value teams to help them lead cross-functional projects.

 

The CoS will act as a strategist, consultant, and implementer, to ensure streamlined activities across Latin America and globally. They will contribute to the long-term success of the Firm by focusing on scaling operational infrastructure, as well as our expansion into new markets and products by seamlessly moving between strategic and tactical roadmaps.

 

We work at an incredible pace, so this person will need to be a self-starter with excellent EQ, written, verbal, and visual communication skills, strong time management skills, uncanny attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and above all, flexibility and discretion. This role may require non-standard working hours across multiple time zones and significant travel.

 

This position will be remote, although candidates already based in Mexico would be preferred for time zone coverage.

What You Will Be Doing

 

Overall, the role is expected to be fluid and the candidate needs to be flexible, working alongside the shifting needs of the Firm. However, expected duties and responsibilities will include the following:

 

  • Act as an advisor to the Managing Partner assisting in facilitating effective decision-making and implementation, and working on projects and strategies.
  • Develop, manage and implement successful and consistent operational processes, systems, tools, playbooks, solutions and programs to make functions and projects more effective.
  • Coordinate and project manage the execution of assigned strategic initiatives, with specific responsibility for cross-functional delivery of key projects, ensuring smooth collaboration across multiple geographies and teams, tracking performance and successful completion of short and long-term goals reporting back to the Managing Partner on progress, blockers and risks.
  • Act as the communication arm for the Managing Partner with team members, clients, investors, community members and other stakeholders.
  • Organize and gather information from various departments and meetings on assigned strategic priorities and report that information, along with recommendations, to the Managing Partner.
  • Oversee the research and preparation of decks and briefing materials on strategic priorities or investor relations matters for upcoming meetings and events, draft event briefings and talking points, and support preparation for internal and external events on behalf of the Managing Partner.
  • Handling inquiries and routine or complex responsibilities as delegated.

 

Requirements

 

  • Experience in creative problem-solving and eliminating barriers at any organizational level.
  • Superior analytical and project management capabilities. Proven ability in prioritizing workflows, working independently within tight deadlines, and collaborating across teams with limited supervision.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects across a wide variety of functional business problems.
  • Clear, effective communicator across written and verbal communication; able to influence and collaborate with stakeholders across functions at all levels of experience.
  • Creativity and comfortable with ‘blank sheet of paper’ assignments. Comfortable with ambiguity and identifying what may be needed to define clarity.
  • Discreet and trustworthy in handling sensitive commercial information and conducting discussions accordingly.

 

Technical Requirements

 

  • Strongly proficient in Excel / Sheets and Powerpoint / Slides.
  • Familiarity with CRM and database software.

 

Education & Experience

 

  • Strong academic track record, with a degree in Law, Business, Economics or Management.
  • 4-6 years of work experience as a Chief of Staff in an international organization, or work experience in either a top-tier strategy consulting firm or in-house strategy team, a high growth technology startup or venture capital firm, or a top-tier legal firm.

 

This role is accepting candidates based in Mexico. You must have the right to live and work in the country where you are located.
